"no support"
no logs available on GUI (UDM Pro, latest Firmware), support answered after 3 weeks (not hours, not days, WEEKS!) and requesting answer within 72 hours.

For the price they call, it´s full fraud. Will return my UDM and 4 AP Pro to amazon.

"Ubiquiti is a scam"
-Security is just a word found on google. No proper logs on their GUI, no useful logs forwarded over syslog so you have to take their word on what's happening on your network.
-Security related bugs are not a priority for them either.
-No clued support.
-Software is in ALPHA/BETA forever, yet they charge enterprise-grade prices. They then created a new GUI to hide all the ALPHA & BETA notices but the software is the same really.
-No documentation.
-Switches failing after 2 years
Just buy TP-link since you don't get visibility or reliability with ubiquiti (except maybe APs) so you may as well pay a third of the price and short their share.

"Buggy, unstable, no documentation and no support."
Here is a word of advice before you buy any UniFi or Ubiquiti equipment. You need to know that most of the equipment, even models that has been developed for years are really buggy. Some issues like failing DHCP over WiFi has been there for 4-5 years and are still unresolved. Stability isn't there at all. You can expect problems with your network at least every couple of weeks. If you are thinking of something that you'll set up and it will simply work you better buy something else. In fact most of the consumer brands for home users would be more reliable. Product documentation is very poor, in most of the cases it simply doesn't exist. Support is very poor. People on the chat are useless. L1 engineers are sometimes not familiar even with the networking basics like OSI not to mention helping you in creating FW rules or knowing equipment they support. They are usually there to escalate to L2 that will contact you over email, if they contact you before you get old. Waiting for response from the L2 is taking days which I'm finding unacceptable. Imagine that you network is compromised or down. You'll be out of business before anyone bother to help you or you end up paying a lot of money to the 3rd party consultants to get your issue sorted in a timely manner. In the long run you'll be much better off spending more on Cisco, Dell or HP. I would give them 0 stars if I could.

"Keep clear of this company and it's products."
Unfortunately, there is no option for zero or negative stars.
Absolutely terrible company to deal with. How can you sell tech equipment with no support.
DO NOT buy any of this companies products.
No warranty, No support and absolutely no way I would trust them again.

"Homelab Level Hardware & Software, Not Perfect but it works for my usecase."
Although I can't rate 5 stars as I've had quite a few issues with my Dream Machine Pro crashing due to inserting a Hard Drive or making changes in my web panel like forgetting a client causing it to freeze up. I can't say that I don't love their stuff.

My entire network runs on Ubiquiti and although it did cost a pretty penny, it didn't cost as much as some of the other more complex gear on the market.

If you are willing to deal with some of the shortcomings of a brand geared more towards the average person who wants a homelab or to run a small production network, Ubiquiti will get you there.

If you want something more stable, the bigger brands that have more years of experience in networking may be a better choice.

"Chime for doorbell - doesn't work & they don't care"
Chime for doorbell - no longer in Early Access. Bought two. Ah yeah, actually (after we got you to do tests) we realise we know they don't actually work! We'll go ahead and close the support case BUT if you'd like to check online you can see if they get fixed sometime.

HOLD UP - I just bought two expensive paperweights and you don't apologise or offer a refund just close the case and suggest they might start working sometime in the future but I need to manage that?

WOW - clueless customer service.

Made a fuss. Offered a refund - I explain I actually want a working product but they (not me) need to own letting me know when the've fixed it. Blank stare (in Email) back.

Beyond words!

"NEVER PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS…"
NEVER PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS HORRIBLE COMPANY! THEY HAVE COST ME THOUSANDS IN DOWN TIME AND THERE IS NO REMORSE OR ANYONE THAT HAS A BRAIN OVER THERE. THEY TRY AND MAKE YOU INSTALL (TEAMVIEWER) TO CONTROL YOUR COMPUTER AND THEY WON'T EVEN TALK TO YOU TO MOVE THE SUPPORT ALONG QUICKLY! IT WORKED FOR THE FIRST 2 MONTHS AND THEN IT BLOCKS EMAILS FROM MY DEDICATED SERVER, THE SPEED WENT FROM 800mbps TO 23MBPS!!!! 23!!!! I HOOKED UP ANOTHER TREDNET AND IT WORKED JUST FINE! THEIR CONDENSING ATTITUDE TELLING ME THAT THEY DON'T HAVE TO GIVE ME SUPPORT AND WILL BLOCK ME FOREVER, IS A COMPLETE JOKE!!!

NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!

"Dream Machine lives up to it's name!"
I am an IT engineer and have been in the Industry since PCs were a thing. I have used quite a few types of routers and access points over the years, but Ubiquiti's Dream Machine Pro is the best I have ever used. It provides all the functionality a home or business user would ever need at a great price. It monitors for attacks and can automatically block them. They have lots of variety in Access points to fit your need and traffic density. No one size fits all products. If you have a stadium full of people, they have it covered. The support VPN for users and between locations with just a couple clicks. As far as administering the network, it is a breeze. They provide tons of data regarding use and activity. This box is an IT department. I havent seen anything that comes close to the Dream Machine product line.

"Very poor range"
Very poor range. I have two Unifi acces points installed in order to have full coverage in our 235 m2 house. Connection is often lost and in the office and living room we have no wireless signal. a rangextender to 173 of the price is much better

"Support wants me to provide Video evidence. Nuts?"
The chat below should suffice to explain why I am giving this company a one star review. I have been in IT for 16 years and have been calling helpdesks, creating tickets and so on at a gazillion companies on a daily basis.

But in all these years never, ever, ever, has a support employee asked me to provide proof of what I stated by providing a SCREENRECORDING. (As in VIDEO)

That's right. The guy wanted me to FILM my screen and provide him with the footage? Why? Because he believes some customers are lying?

I don't know. I asked, but he just kept repeating himself "I need that screenrecording"

I have been buying Ubiquiti, or letting my customers buy Ubiquiti, for around 5 years now. Access Points. UDM's. USG's, EdgeRouters. I know 'em all and I have done it all. We're talking hundres and hundreds of devices. Dare I say a thousand?

I never have needed support until today though, as far as I can remember. Google and the forum have been my friends so to speak.

Also, lately, Ubiquiti seems to be going in a wrong direction. The EdgeRouter line seems to have been completely cut back from a huge line of different routers to one rackmountable router, and two that are clearly meant for consumer living rooms. The software is getting more and more buggy and prices are on the rise (as in 200%) for a lot of products.

Simply said it seems they went from Prosumer for decent prices to consumer for to much money.

As an IT admin, I like CLI. Rackmountable equipment. Scaleable choices. Which seem to be vanishing at Ubiquiti.

Finally, I also like good Support. Which you won't find in the anonymized chat I would like to share with you below.

ME: I can't enable the "automate cloud config backup" function in the UDMP GUI.
When I click the "enable" system, nothing happens.
Tried it on multiple Windows 10 desktop pc's, via Chrome and Edge.
I also have the problem that I receive an error when I try to perform a manual back-up, but I guess I perhaps need to create another ticket for that?

(12:46:05 PM) UBIQUITI EMPLOYEE: I need to see that.
(12:46:19 PM) UBIQUITI EMPLOYEE: please share the screen recording.
(12:46:22 PM) ME: Or do you believe I press that button, something indeed does happen and I am lying about it?
(12:46:38 PM)ME: Either way: That is just proposterous.

"Beware! You may be coerced"
About a year ago I bought a brand new CloudKey Gen2 to manage my network. This company made a software upgrade and remove functionality that was just fine. I contacted their support team and their only solution was to buy another version of the same product to be able to use the functionality and devices that I have installed in my network! This is wrong on so many levels. Very poor customer support and unbelievable that I am being coerced to buy product that I don't need because they have made changes to their software

"Useless support"
Nice equipment, useless support! Wait times are a complete joke for support. RMA requests also take AAAAGGGGEEEESSS - seriously - buy ANYTHING else as for equipment that is by definition mission critical, the complete lack of any interest in support is beyond a joke!

"woeful support"
As mentioned elsewhere, the hardware (for what i need it to do) was great. but the support is woeful. we had a blackout a couple of weeks ago and my UDMPro, which was plugged into a UPS, lost power. it now won't boot and tells me to go into recovery mode, but the unit refuses to.

Contacted support, yep its a hardware fault. if its still under warranty RMA it

Warranty is 12 months if purchased from a reseller and 24 months if bought from ubiquiti.

I bought it 14 months ago from Amazon, ubiquiti don't have a store in Australia.

AUS$600 and its useless.

"They scrapped Unifi Video after we…"
They scrapped Unifi Video after we invested thousands in cameras. The beauty of Unifi Video was you could install on your own hardware, which made it easy to virtualise.

As Ubiquiti pulled the plug on Unifi Video we had no choice but to move to Protect that really is in no shape or form enterprise ready.

The software cannot be virtualized and the hardware (in my opinion) is an overpriced piece of junk! We reluctantly bought one as we cannot afford to replace all the cameras we invested in Unifi Video and we opted for the UNVR.

One year in, the unit has FAILED it's bricked, useless.

Now, if this was Unifi Video I would have had it back up and running by now as I'd just re-create a VM and boom very little downtime.

But Unifi Protect, frankly, is taking the p*ss.
